Peak Season Surcharge (PSS)
Ocean Carriers operating from North Asia to Australia have announced a PSS of USD200.00/20’ and USD400.00/40’ effective 01 September 2013.
General Rate Increase (GRI)
Ocean Carriers operating from South East Asia to Australia have announced a GRI of USD150.00/20’ and USD300.00/40’ effective 01 September 2013.
Ocean Carriers operating from North East Asia to Australia have announced a GRI of USD300.00/20’ and USD600.00 effective 01 September 2013.
Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) Increase
Ocean Carriers operating from North Asia to Australia have announced a BAF increase to USD725.00/20’ and USD1450.00/40’ effective 01 September 2013.
Even though Ocean Carriers have made these announcements, we will be closely monitoring the situation and ONLY on-charging whatever increases are implemented by them.
GENERAL
Implementation of Security Screening in Hong Kong
Air Cargo Security Standards changes to the Regulated Agent Regime program were recently introduced by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Under this program, shipments which do not originate from either Known Consignors (KC) or Account Consignors (AC) are classified as Unknown Cargo (UNK). The UNK shipments will need to be tendered as loose cargo and undergo additional security measures at the airline terminals and will attract a Security Screening Fee.
Security Screening Fees will be passed on at cost. We suggest you speak with your suppliers about becoming Known Consignors in order to reduce costs and expedite your shipping time.
